Perlick freezers,
specifically.

Perlick builds its freezers the way it builds bar refrigeration: 24-inch G5 undercounter freezer drawers in stainless steel, rated for indoor and outdoor use. The G5 touch display names each alarm with a three-letter code such as T1H or DO2 and keeps the last ten in its Alarm History.

All freezer types

What is particular
to Perlick.

We service Perlick G5 Luxe 24-inch freezer drawers and dual-zone refrigerator-freezer drawers, indoors and outdoors. The model number on the label at the inside top of the cabinet tells us the configuration.

Three-letter alarm codes

G5 alarms are short codes that read almost like words: T1H is high zone 1 temperature, DO2 a long door opening, PWR a power outage. Perlick pairs most of them with an owner step and a rule to call for service if the alarm repeats within a week.

Alarm History and a diagnostic window

The control stores up to ten past alarms with date and time, and a diagnostic screen shows cabinet, evaporator and condenser temperatures plus fan and compressor output. That makes remote diagnosis and a focused visit possible.

Owner-run defrost

The G5 defrosts automatically, but the owner can start an evaporator defrost from the display, and Perlick asks for one after a long door opening. It will not start while the coil is warm or Quick Cool is on.

Rated for outdoor kitchens

Freezer models are rated for rooms from 32°F up to 105°F, and Perlick has winterizing steps for colder weather. Coastal grade units are recommended near the ocean or a pool.

Parts

Probes, fans, door switches and the G5 display are model-specific. Coastal grade units use different materials, so the full model number matters when ordering.

Repair or replace

A G5 unit that throws a probe, fan or door code is a straightforward repair. Replacement is worth discussing only on older non-G5 units with sealed-system trouble.

Questions about
Perlick freezers.

What does T1H mean on Perlick freezer drawers?
Zone 1, the cabinet, is warmer than its high limit. Check the drawers and gasket, clean the condenser and clear the grille; book a visit if it returns within a week.
Can a Perlick G5 freezer stay outside in winter?
Freezer models are rated down to a 32°F room. Below that, Perlick asks you to follow its winterization steps in the manual.
How do I see past alarms on my Perlick?
Open Alarm History from the service menu. It keeps up to ten alarms with date and time, which is useful to share when you book.
