What T1L
actually means.
T1L is the low zone 1 temperature alarm on G5 units. Food in a freezer is not harmed by the extra cold, but a cabinet that overshoots its setting can point to a sensor or control problem, or to a very cold room around an outdoor unit.

What to do when T1L shows on the freezerKind of codeTemperature and alarms
The freezer measured a cabinet warmer than it should be and said so, sometimes with the highest temperature it reached while nobody was looking. The cause can be as simple as a door left ajar or a long power outage, or as serious as a compressor that stopped. Keep the door or the lid shut and check whether the food is still hard before anything else; the alarm is a warning about the food, not a diagnosis.
Usually leads toFreezer thermostat and temperature control repair
Repairing the dial thermostat or the sensor and control that decide when a freezer cools, so it stops running without end or quitting too early.
Shows up asFreezer Error Code
A freezer error code appears on the display: letters and digits, a flashing temperature, or a warning symbol, sometimes with an alarm and sometimes with the freezer still running.

Before you book,
in this order.
Each step comes from Perlick's own guidance for T1L on its freezers. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit.
Check the set point on the main screen and correct it if it was changed.
Note the room or patio temperature; Perlick lists 32°F as the lower ambient limit for freezer models.
If T1L keeps returning at a normal setting and room temperature, book a visit.

What not to do
T1L is not a food safety alarm for a freezer, since the food stays frozen. It is also different from TEL, which is about the evaporator coil, not the cabinet.

Book with the code or the alarm pattern written exactly as the freezer shows it, the full model number, and whether the food is still frozen hard — when there is a code, that is where the diagnosis starts.
