What PWR
actually means.
PWR is the G5 code for a power outage. Perlick asks you to make sure temperature-sensitive food did not spoil while power was off and to check the date and time settings, which the outage may have reset.

What to do when PWR shows on the freezerKind of codePower and voltage
The freezer saw its supply voltage drop, spike or vanish, and many models log that as a code after an outage or when the power returns. The outlet, the circuit, a GFCI in a garage or basement and an extension cord are checked before anything inside the freezer. If there is a burning smell or the breaker keeps tripping, switch the breaker off from a dry panel and leave it off until the visit.
Usually leads toFreezer diagnostic visit
A visit that starts with the food and the room the freezer stands in, then works through the seal, the airflow, the defrost and the compressor until one part is named.
Shows up asFreezer Error Code
A freezer error code appears on the display: letters and digits, a flashing temperature, or a warning symbol, sometimes with an alarm and sometimes with the freezer still running.

Before you book,
in this order.
Each step comes from Perlick's own guidance for PWR on its freezers. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit.
Check the food: anything fully thawed should be used or thrown out rather than refrozen.
Open the date and time menu and correct them, so Alarm History records the right times.
If PWR keeps appearing with no known outage, check the outlet and breaker, then book a visit.
Still there?
It usually turns into freezer diagnostic visit. Book with the code and the model number.
What not to do
PWR does not mean the freezer is damaged. A unit that stays dark after power returns has a different problem, such as the rocker switch, the cord or the board.
What you may
notice with it.

Still showing PWR?
Book with the code or the alarm pattern written exactly as the freezer shows it, the full model number, and whether the food is still frozen hard — when there is a code, that is where the diagnosis starts.
