What Lake Nona does
to a freezer.

Only about 1,500 people lived there in 2000; by 2015 the count had passed 50,000.

As part of the city it is served by OUC, whose power travels over more than 2,600 circuit miles of distribution lines, some overhead and some underground.

Ian's 14 inches of rain in 2022 flooded most Orlando neighborhoods as the city's lakes overflowed.

Newer developments

In newer neighborhoods the same freezer model sits in many garages, bought in the same move-in season, and the same worn part tends to show up house after house along the street within a couple of years.

Built-in columns and drawers

A built-in freezer column paired with a matching column is set into cabinetry cut to its exact size, and a repair there works from the front, through the top grille and the toe kick, rather than pulling the column out of its opening.

Family houses

A family freezer holds the weekly shopping, the meal prep and the ice pops, and its door is often left resting against a bag or a box by a child in a hurry, so a door alarm that chirps every day is the signal to check the seal and the latch.
