The boards that run the freezer stopped talking to each other, or one of them failed: the main control lost the display panel, or a board reported a problem of its own. A connector loosened by a move and a harness damp from condensation are checked before a board is ordered by model number. Built-in columns and undercounter freezers lean on their electronics more than a basic chest freezer does.

Turn the unit off with the rocker switch or at the breaker, wait a moment, and turn it back on. If it comes back, it needs a visit.
Where is the rocker switch on a Perlick G5?
It is the unit’s own power switch, described in the G5 manual. Using it or the breaker restarts both the control and the display.
Will my Perlick freezer keep cooling with UIX?
Often yes, since the cooling control is separate from the display. Watch the temperature, because you cannot adjust it until the link is back.
What causes Perlick UIX besides a bad display?
A loose display cable or a brief power problem can also cause it, which is why a power reset comes first.
