What is particular
to Monogram.

We work on Monogram ZIF181, ZIF241, ZIF301 and ZIF361 built-in column freezers, most of them with an automatic ice maker and a water filter. Older Monogram columns may carry a different control, so the rating label comes first.

Four column widths

The ZIF181, ZIF241, ZIF301 and ZIF361 column freezers share one owner's manual with the ZIR refrigerator columns. The model number sits on a label beside the ice storage drawer.

A cooling switch that looks like a failure

Holding both the plus and minus pads turns cooling off while the lights and display stay on. A column that feels warm with COOLING OFF on the screen has been switched off, not broken.

A master switch and a timed defrost

The manual lists an unset unit master switch among the reasons a column does not run, and warns that the motor can rest for about 45 minutes during defrost. Both are checked before anything is replaced.

Wi-Fi and Sabbath on the same panel

These columns connect to a phone app and have a Sabbath mode that silences alarms and lights for up to 96 hours. Either one can make the column seem unresponsive.

Parts

Column freezer parts, trim and panels are matched to the model and serial number on the label next to the ice storage drawer. Items for built-in columns are often ordered after the first visit.

Repair or replace

A Monogram column is set into cabinetry and paired with a refrigerator column, so repair is nearly always the first choice. Replacement comes up mainly when the sealed system fails on an older unit whose size is no longer made.

My Monogram column freezer says COOLING OFF. Is it broken?
No. Someone has held both the plus and minus pads, which stops cooling while leaving the power on. Press either pad to bring it back, then allow up to 24 hours to reach temperature.
Why does my Monogram freezer column ignore the buttons and keep its lights off?
It may be in Sabbath Mode, which shows SABBATH MODE on the display and turns off tones and lights. Hold the plus and DOOR ALARM pads to leave it, or wait for it to end on its own after 96 hours.
How long can a Monogram column freezer door stay open before it beeps?
With DOOR ALARM active, it flashes and beeps after 2 minutes and sounds again 5 minutes later if the door is still open.
Where is the model number on a Monogram column freezer?
On a label on the hinge side wall, beside the ice storage drawer. Have it ready when you book.
