What is particular
to Bertazzoni.

The /23 columns (REF18FCIP, REF24FCIP, REF30FCIP, panel-ready or stainless) use the touch display with named messages; the REF18FCBIP and REF24FCBIP columns have a simpler panel. The model decides which manual and message list apply.

An outage report on the display

After a long power cut the column restarts on its own, shows the warmest temperature reached and keeps the Alarm button blinking so you can see it again. That record is the fastest way to decide what food to keep.

Frost-free with automatic defrost

Bertazzoni describes its 24 inch column as frost free, with a variable-speed compressor and automated defrosting of the evaporator. Heavy frost therefore points us toward the door seal or the defrost system.

A condenser reminder you switch on

The display can ask for condenser cleaning every 6 months, but the reminder is disabled from the factory. Many columns we see have never had the condenser behind the toe kick cleaned.

Demo Mode that looks normal

In Demo Mode the lights work and temperatures appear on the display, yet no cooling takes place. A new column that stays warm is checked for it first.

Parts

Parts are ordered through Bertazzoni's US support by model and serial number. Display and control parts for the column freezers are not common stock items and may add time to the repair.

Repair or replace

Bertazzoni columns are panel-matched to their kitchens, so we repair controls, fans, defrost parts and hinges rather than replace the column. A sealed-system failure on an older column is the case where replacing is worth pricing out.

Power was off for a long time. The column restarts by itself and shows the warmest temperature reached; press Alarm to see it again.

It may be in Demo Mode, where lights and temperatures show but no cooling happens. If it is not, book a diagnostic visit.
