What to do when Check condenser shows on the freezer

Before you book,
in this order.

Each step comes from Bertazzoni's own guidance for Check condenser on its freezers. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit.

01

Turn the column off with the Unit button, wait about 30 minutes, and remove the grille under the door.

02

Vacuum the condenser fins with a soft brush, wearing gloves because the edges are sharp.

03

Restart the column, touch reset in the maintenance menu, and book a visit if the condenser is caked or the column still runs warm.

Cleared?

The freezer is holding its temperature again and no part had to be replaced. If the same code comes back within a few days, or the packages start to soften again, book it as a fresh problem.

What not to do

Check Cond is a calendar reminder, not a measurement of a clogged condenser. It appears on schedule whether the coil is dusty or clean.

What you may
notice with it.

The freezer problems Check condenser tends to arrive with. Answer these at the freezer before anyone is booked.

All problems

No repair indicated

Nothing to repair.

A setting the freezer was put into, often by accident or by the store it came from, rather than a part that broke: a showroom or demo mode that lights the display while the compressor stays off, a fast freeze left running for days, a Sabbath setting that silences the alarms, a control lock, a door alarm reminding you the door stood open. Nothing has worn out, and the freezer's own buttons or manual put it back.

In Bertazzoni's own words

The required cleaning every 6 months is denoted by an audible and visual message on the display.

Questions
about Check condenser.

Can I clear Check condenser myself?
Turn the column off with the Unit button, wait about 30 minutes, and remove the grille under the door.
How often does a Bertazzoni column ask for condenser cleaning?
Every 6 months, once the reminder is switched on in the maintenance settings.
Can I turn off Check Cond on my Bertazzoni freezer?
Yes. Touch Off in the maintenance settings. The condenser still needs regular cleaning.
Why does a dusty condenser matter on a Bertazzoni freezer column?
The condenser sheds the heat the freezer removes. Dust makes the compressor run longer to hold temperature.

Still showing Check condenser?

Book with the code or the alarm pattern written exactly as the freezer shows it, the full model number, and whether the food is still frozen hard — when there is a code, that is where the diagnosis starts.
