Food modes instead of a single dial
The columns offer Soft Freeze, Freezer and Deep Freeze, and Deep Freeze holds -13 °F for long storage. When food is too hard or too soft, we check which mode is selected before anything else.

A drawer that can be a freezer
The CoolDrawer ships in freezer mode and can switch to other food modes, including a deep freeze at -13 °F. A drawer that suddenly seems warm has sometimes simply been set to a different mode.
Condenser care is a technician job
The guide asks owners to clean the toe kick grille and filter, but says the column's condenser coils need periodic cleaning by a service technician. A long-running or noisy column is often due for that service.
Parts

Repair or replace
An integrated column or CoolDrawer is built into cabinetry, so a fan, sensor, heater or control repair almost always makes more sense than replacement. The case for replacing grows when an older column needs sealed-system work and the owner is remodeling anyway.
