What is particular
to Thermador.

We see Freedom freezer columns in 18, 24, 30 and 36-inch widths, often beside a Thermador refrigerator column, and the under-counter combo drawers. On the columns we check door automation and installation along with the cooling system; on the drawers, the slides, seals and drawer alarm.

Doors that open themselves

The columns offer Push-to-open for handleless panels and Pull-to-open for doors with handles, with adjustable opening force and duration. A door that will not open is often a setting, and Sabbath mode switches automatic opening off.

Four column widths

The same use and care guide covers the 18, 24, 30 and 36-inch freezer columns. The ice drawer and ice maker live in the column itself, so ice complaints and freezer complaints share one visit.

The T24UC925DS pairs a refrigerated upper drawer with a freezer lower drawer, preset at 0°F. Thermador says it must not go outdoors or in rooms where frost is a risk.

Alarms that differ by product

A column shows a message with the warmest temperature reached, while the drawers flash a blue light over the ALARM button after two minutes open. Knowing which you have saves guessing on the phone.

Parts

Column parts such as fans, sensors, ice makers and door opener parts are specific to the Freedom platform and are ordered through Thermador's parts channel. Panels and trim are custom and can add time to a door or hinge repair.

Repair or replace

Thermador columns and drawers are built into the kitchen, so repair is almost always the answer. Replacement is worth weighing only for a sealed-system failure on an older unit.

Why won't my Thermador freezer column door open when I push it?
Push-to-open may be off, set to Pull-to-open, or set with too high an opening force, and Sabbath mode disables automatic opening entirely. You can still open the door by reaching under the bottom panel, then adjust the setting in the menu.
My Thermador undercounter drawers show SAB. Is something wrong?
No. SAB appears for a few seconds when Sabbath mode starts, and while it is on the alarms and lights stay off. Hold the Sabbath button for three seconds to return to normal.
Can a Thermador freezer drawer go in an outdoor kitchen?
No. Thermador's guide says the refrigerator freezer drawers must not be installed outdoors or where there is a risk of frost. For an outdoor bar you need a unit rated for outdoor use.
