All freezer typesWhat is particular
to SKS.
Column freezers are SKSCF1801P, SKSCF2401P, SKSCF3001P and SKSCF3611P; the convertible drawers are SKSUD2402P. The model sets the control panel, the button combinations and the parts.
Drawers that switch to freezer
The SKSUD2402P drawers let each zone run as a refrigerator or a freezer, with Freezer among six preset modes. A drawer that seems too warm is sometimes just set to another mode.
A store mode that shows OF
Display Mode keeps the panel lit and disables all cooling; the column shows OF and the drawers OFF. It is the first thing we rule out on a new freezer that stays warm.
Sabbath mode silences alarms
In Sabbath mode the display shows sb, the light and alarms go off, the ice maker stops and the freezer holds 0 °F for up to 96 hours. Door alarms stay silent during that time.
Room limits for garages and bars
SKS says the freezer should not be operated above 110 °F, and it expects the compressor to run more in warm rooms. A column in a hot space that runs constantly may be working as designed.
Parts
SKS parts come through LG's parts network and are matched to the model and serial number on the label. Most control, fan and sensor parts are available, though sealed-system parts may need to be ordered.
Repair or replace
An integrated SKS column or drawer is fitted to its cabinetry, so we repair it in almost every case. Replacement is worth discussing only if an older unit needs a sealed-system repair and the owner is changing the kitchen layout.
