What E6
actually means.
E6 records a short on thermistor 2, the evaporator sensor. As with E2, the main risk is defrost that ends at the wrong time, which lets frost build on the coil until airflow and cooling drop. U-Line keeps it in the error log, read in service mode; only the door code is shown on the display during normal use.

What to do when E6 shows on the freezerKind of codeTemperature sensors
The control lost its reading of how cold the cabinet, the coil or the air around the freezer is, because a thermistor reports nonsense or its wire came loose. Without that number the control either runs the compressor without stopping or lets the cabinet drift warm. A sensor packed in frost and a connector loosened by a move are checked before the sensor itself is replaced.

Shows up asFreezer Error Code
A freezer error code appears on the display: letters and digits, a flashing temperature, or a warning symbol, sometimes with an alarm and sometimes with the freezer still running.

Before you book,
in this order.
Each step comes from U-Line's own guidance for E6 on its freezers. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit.
Check the back wall for thick frost or ice, and note whether the freezer is warmer than usual.
Unplug the unit briefly and plug it back in to see if normal operation returns.
Book a visit and mention E6 so the evaporator sensor can be tested.

What not to do
E6 is not the cabinet sensor short, which is E5. It also does not mean the defrost drain is blocked, even though both can leave ice in the cabinet.
