actually means.
On U-Line’s 24-inch convertible freezers, dr is the door alert. A plunger switch watches the door, and after five minutes open the control shows dr and sounds a tone for a few seconds every minute; the same event is saved in the error log as E0.

A setting the freezer was put into, often by accident or by the store it came from, rather than a part that broke: a showroom or demo mode that lights the display while the compressor stays off, a fast freeze left running for days, a Sabbath setting that silences the alarms, a control lock, a door alarm reminding you the door stood open. Nothing has worn out, and the freezer's own buttons or manual put it back.

Close the door firmly; the alert clears and resets as soon as the switch sees it shut.
Check that a basket, a tall package or the adjoining cabinetry is not stopping the door from closing all the way.
If dr appears with the door closed, check the seal for gaps, then book a visit to test the door switch.

The freezer is holding its temperature again and no part had to be replaced. If the same code comes back within a few days, or the packages start to soften again, book it as a fresh problem.

dr does not mean the freezer has warmed up; it only reports the open door. A unit that is warm with the door shut points to cooling or sensor problems, which U-Line logs as E codes instead.
