Both mean the freezer zone has climbed above its set temperature, for example after frequent door opening, a large load of fresh food, warm food, an extended power failure or a problem in the appliance. The highest temperature reached is shown so you can judge the food.

The freezer measured a cabinet warmer than it should be and said so, sometimes with the highest temperature it reached while nobody was looking.
