On GE FUF uprights, holding Control Lock for 3 seconds locks the panel and turns on its ON light. While it is lit, the temperature setting cannot be changed; holding Control Lock for 3 seconds again unlocks it.

Press and hold Control Lock for 3 seconds until its ON light goes out.
Set the temperature you want with the plus or minus pad.
If the panel still ignores every button when unlocked, unplug the freezer for a minute, then book a visit if nothing changes.
Cleared?
The freezer is holding its temperature again and no part had to be replaced. If the same code comes back within a few days, or the packages start to soften again, book it as a fresh problem.
