What DemoMode
actually means.

Liebherr’s DemoMode is meant for presenting an appliance at shows or in salesrooms. On Monolith columns, turning it on switches the cooling circuit off, so a freezer left in this mode will warm up even though the display looks normal.

What to do when DemoMode shows on the freezer

Before you book,
in this order.

Each step comes from Liebherr's own guidance for DemoMode on its freezers. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit.

01

If food is inside and the freezer feels warm, move it to another freezer or a cooler with ice right away.

02

Turn DemoMode off through the settings menu; on Monolith, Liebherr has you enter code 151 to deactivate it.

03

Check after a few hours that the temperature is falling, and book a visit if it does not.

Cleared?

The freezer is holding its temperature again and no part had to be replaced. If the same code comes back within a few days, or the packages start to soften again, book it as a fresh problem.

What not to do

DemoMode is not a broken compressor, even though the result, a warm freezer, looks the same. It is also not SabbathMode, which keeps cooling and only disables alarms and lights.

What you may
notice with it.

The freezer problems DemoMode tends to arrive with. Answer these at the freezer before anyone is booked.

All problems

No repair indicated

Nothing to repair.

A setting the freezer was put into, often by accident or by the store it came from, rather than a part that broke: a showroom or demo mode that lights the display while the compressor stays off, a fast freeze left running for days, a Sabbath setting that silences the alarms, a control lock, a door alarm reminding you the door stood open. Nothing has worn out, and the freezer's own buttons or manual put it back.

Questions
about DemoMode.

Can I clear DemoMode myself?
If food is inside and the freezer feels warm, move it to another freezer or a cooler with ice right away.
How can a new Liebherr Monolith end up in DemoMode?
Display units in stores are often left in it, and the setting can stay on after delivery or be switched on by accident in the menu. The display looks normal, so the warm freezer is the first clue.
What is code 151 on a Liebherr Monolith?
It is the code Liebherr gives in the manual to confirm turning DemoMode off. It is a menu entry, not an error code.
Does DemoMode damage a Liebherr freezer?
No, the appliance simply is not cooling. The risk is to the food, so check it as soon as you notice.

Back to your everyday

Still showing DemoMode?

Book with the code or the alarm pattern written exactly as the freezer shows it, the full model number, and whether the food is still frozen hard — when there is a code, that is where the diagnosis starts.
