When one reads as an open circuit, the alarm sounds and the display shows oPn; pressing ALARM OFF silences it, but the sensor still needs attention. Without that number the control either runs the compressor without stopping or lets the cabinet drift warm. Press ALARM OFF to silence the tone. If it comes back, it needs a visit. ### Does oPn on my Viking freezer mean the door is open? No. oPn refers to a temperature sensor circuit reading open. An open door lights DOOR OPEN instead. ### Can I keep food in a Viking all freezer showing oPn? For a short time, yes, but check the temperature with a thermometer, because the control cannot trust the sensor that failed. ### Will pressing ALARM OFF fix Viking oPn? It only stops the sound.
