Thermador's Freedom freezer columns have a demo mode in the settings menu for showrooms. With it on, the display and lighting work but the column does not cool, and Thermador warns that the appliance stays at room temperature. Switching demo mode off in the same menu restores normal cooling. Thermador freezer display · also shown as Demo mode on What to do when Demo mode shows on the freezer ### Kind of code Mode, not a failure A setting the freezer was put into, often by accident or by the store it came from, rather than a part that broke: a showroom or demo mode that lights the display while the compressor stays off, a fast freeze left running for days, a Sabbath setting that silences the alarms, a control lock, a door alarm reminding you the door stood open. Nothing has worn out, and the freezer's own buttons or manual put it back. ### Usually leads to No repair Open the settings menu, go to Demo mode and select Off. ### Shows up as Standalone Freezer Not Freezing A standalone freezer not freezing shows it on a thermometer long before the food goes soft: packages give under your thumb, a tub of stock is slush at the center, and the cabinet air feels cool rather than biting. ### Make Thermador Thermador freezers repaired on site when they run warm, frost over or keep sounding off. ### Source Thermador freezer column use and care guide 8001153821, demo mode Thermador Freedom freezer columns T18IF905SP to T36IF905SP (use and care guide 8001153821). ## Before you book, in this order. Each step comes from Thermador's own guidance for Demo mode on its freezers. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit. 01 Open the settings menu, go to Demo mode and select Off. 02 Remove food that has warmed, since the column was at room temperature. 03 Keep the door closed for several hours, and book a visit if the column still does not cool. ### Cleared? The freezer is holding its temperature again and no part had to be replaced. If the same code comes back within a few days, or the packages start to soften again, book it as a fresh problem. ### What not to do Demo mode is a setting, not a broken part. If it is already off and the display is lit with no cooling, the problem is in the cooling system. ## What you may notice with it. The freezer problems Demo mode tends to arrive with. Open the settings menu, go to Demo mode and select Off. ### Where do I switch off demo mode on a Thermador freezer column? Open the settings menu, move to Demo mode, choose Off and confirm. The column begins cooling as soon as the mode is off. ### My Thermador column was installed yesterday and is warm but lit. Is it demo mode? That is the most likely reason if the lights and display work but nothing cools. Check the setting before arranging a repair. ### Does demo mode affect the ice drawer on a Thermador freezer column? Yes, indirectly. Without cooling, the ice maker cannot freeze water, so ice production stops until the column is cold again. --- **[Read on the site: Thermador freezer column stays at room temperature: demo mode is on](https://freezerrepair.center/error-codes/thermador-demo-mode/)** **[Book a visit with FreezerRepair.center](https://freezerrepair.center/schedule/)**
