The fan motor and the lights keep working, which makes the unit look alive, but the compressor is held off, so the cabinet never gets cold. It is switched on or off by pressing Temp, Fridge and Lock together for five seconds, which is also how it gets turned on by accident. Each step comes from Samsung's own guidance for oF on its freezers. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit. 01 Press and hold Temp, Fridge and Lock at the same time for five seconds until oF leaves the display. 02 Move any food that has softened to a working freezer or a cooler with ice while the cabinet pulls down. 03 Leave the door shut for several hours and check that the Freezer mode light is on and the set temperature is back. 04 Book a visit if oF will not clear, or if the compressor still does not start once the display is normal. ### Cleared? The freezer is holding its temperature again and no part had to be replaced. If the same code comes back within a few days, or the packages start to soften again, book it as a fresh problem. ### What not to do oF does not mean the compressor or the control has failed; the unit is doing exactly what the setting asks. Press and hold Temp, Fridge and Lock at the same time for five seconds until oF leaves the display. ### How did my Samsung upright freezer end up showing oF? Cooling Off is set by holding three buttons together for five seconds, so it can be left on from the store or triggered while cleaning the panel. It does not turn on by itself as a response to a problem. ### The fan is blowing, so why is my Samsung Flex Column warm with oF lit? In Cooling Off the fan and lights are allowed to run for display, but the compressor is not. Air moves without being chilled, which is why the cabinet feels normal inside at first and then warms up. ### Will my Samsung freezer return to its old temperature after I clear oF? It returns to normal control, but check the Freezer mode light and the set point on the display.
