PWR is the G5 code for a power outage. Perlick asks you to make sure temperature-sensitive food did not spoil while power was off and to check the date and time settings, which the outage may have reset. Perlick freezer display What to do when PWR shows on the freezer ### Kind of code Power and voltage The freezer saw its supply voltage drop, spike or vanish, and many models log that as a code after an outage or when the power returns. The outlet, the circuit, a GFCI in a garage or basement and an extension cord are checked before anything inside the freezer. Check the food: anything fully thawed should be used or thrown out rather than refrozen. If it comes back, it needs a visit. ### Why does Perlick ask me to reset the date after PWR? Alarm History stamps each alarm with date and time. After an outage the clock may be wrong, which would make the history misleading. ### My Perlick shows PWR but I had no outage. What happened? A tripped breaker, a loose plug or the unit’s rocker switch being turned off all count as lost power. If the breaker trips, turn it off and book a visit. ### Is food in Perlick freezer drawers safe after PWR? Check it item by item.
