When a Miele freezer finds a failure, the display shows F with a number and an alarm sounds; MasterCool columns add the words Please contact Miele Technical Service. Miele does not publish what each number means in these manuals. On MasterCool columns the same message also covers a supply voltage that is too high or too low, so the connection data is worth checking first. Miele freezer display · also shown as F Please contact Miele Technical Service, F with a number What to do when F shows on the freezer ### Kind of code Control board and communication The boards that run the freezer stopped talking to each other, or one of them failed: the main control lost the display panel, or a board reported a problem of its own. A connector loosened by a move and a harness damp from condensation are checked before a board is ordered by model number. Built-in columns and undercounter freezers lean on their electronics more than a basic chest freezer does. ### Usually leads to Freezer control board and alarm repair Repairing the electronic control, display, door switch and sensors that run a modern freezer, including a temperature alarm that sounds without reason or never sounds at all. ### Shows up as Standalone Freezer Not Freezing A standalone freezer not freezing shows it on a thermometer long before the food goes soft: packages give under your thumb, a tub of stock is slush at the center, and the cabinet air feels cool rather than biting. ### Make Miele Miele freezers repaired in the home, with the display, the alarm and the door checked first. ### Source Miele MasterCool freezer instructions, messages in the display MasterCool freezer columns (F 2462 Vi to F 2672 Vi) show the F message in text; integrated freezers such as the FNS 7794 E light the alarm symbol red and show F with numbers. Individual F numbers are not listed in either manual. ## Before you book, in this order. Each step comes from Miele's own guidance for F on its freezers. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit. 01 Silence the alarm from the display and write down the F number exactly. 02 Bring up the appliance data on the display and note it too, as the manual describes. 03 Check the food temperature and move food if the freezer is warming. 04 Book a visit and pass on the F number and appliance data. ### Still there? Book with the code and the model number. ### What not to do An F message is not a reminder or a mode; it stays on the display until the problem is fixed. A red temperature symbol on its own, without an F number, is the temperature alarm instead. ## What you may notice with it. The freezer problems F tends to arrive with. Silence the alarm from the display and write down the F number exactly. If it comes back, it needs a visit. ### What does my Miele freezer's F number mean? Miele does not publish a list in these freezer manuals; the number is for its service information. Write it down with the appliance data from the display and book a visit. ### Can low voltage make my Miele MasterCool freezer show the F message? Yes. Miele lists a supply voltage that is too high or too low as a cause of the same message, so the outlet and circuit are checked along with the freezer. ### Will the F message on my Miele freezer clear if I turn it off and on? Miele says it stays until the error has been rectified. A restart may silence it briefly, but the underlying problem still needs a visit. --- **[Read on the site: Miele freezer showing F and a number: the appliance has found a real failure](https://freezerrepair.center/error-codes/miele-f-message/)** **[Book a visit with FreezerRepair.center](https://freezerrepair.center/schedule/)**
