Miele freezers have a Demo mode for showrooms that runs the controls and interior lighting without switching on the cooling system. A Demo mode symbol shows on the display while it is active. After it is switched off in the settings, the appliance shuts down and has to be switched on again. Miele freezer display · also shown as Demo mode symbol What to do when Demo mode shows on the freezer ### Kind of code Mode, not a failure A setting the freezer was put into, often by accident or by the store it came from, rather than a part that broke: a showroom or demo mode that lights the display while the compressor stays off, a fast freeze left running for days, a Sabbath setting that silences the alarms, a control lock, a door alarm reminding you the door stood open. Nothing has worn out, and the freezer's own buttons or manual put it back. ### Usually leads to No repair Switch Demo mode off in the settings, as described in your manual. ### Shows up as Standalone Freezer Not Freezing A standalone freezer not freezing shows it on a thermometer long before the food goes soft: packages give under your thumb, a tub of stock is slush at the center, and the cabinet air feels cool rather than biting. ### Make Miele Miele freezers repaired in the home, with the display, the alarm and the door checked first. ### Source Miele FNS 7794 E operating instructions, Demo mode MasterCool freezer columns (F 2462 Vi to F 2672 Vi) and integrated freezers such as the FNS 7794 E. ## Before you book, in this order. Each step comes from Miele's own guidance for Demo mode on its freezers. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit. 01 Switch Demo mode off in the settings, as described in your manual. 02 Switch the freezer back on, since it shuts down after Demo mode is turned off. 03 Remove food that warmed and book a visit if the freezer does not cool afterwards. ### Cleared? The freezer is holding its temperature again and no part had to be replaced. If the same code comes back within a few days, or the packages start to soften again, book it as a fresh problem. ### What not to do Demo mode is a setting, not a broken compressor or board. If no Demo symbol shows and the freezer is warm with lights on, the cooling system needs a technician. ## What you may notice with it. The freezer problems Demo mode tends to arrive with. Switch Demo mode off in the settings, as described in your manual. ### My Miele freezer turned off after I canceled Demo mode. Is that normal? Yes. Miele designs it to shut down once Demo mode is switched off, and you switch it on again to start normal cooling. ### How do I know if my Miele built-in freezer is in Demo mode? A Demo mode symbol shows on the display, and the freezer does not get cold even though the controls and interior light work. ### Can Demo mode come on by itself on a Miele freezer? It is normally set at a showroom or left on from delivery. If it keeps returning after you switch it off, book a visit to check the control. --- **[Read on the site: Miele built-in freezer lit but not cold: Demo mode is on](https://freezerrepair.center/error-codes/miele-demo-mode/)** **[Book a visit with FreezerRepair.center](https://freezerrepair.center/schedule/)**
