--- title: "Marvel VAC: vacation and Sabbath mode is on" description: "What VAC means on Marvel VAC: vacation and Sabbath mode is ons, what to check before booking, and when it is not a failure at all." url: "https://freezerrepair.center/error-codes/marvel-vac/" --- # Marvel VAC: vacation and Sabbath mode is on On the ML24FA, VAC means vacation mode, which Marvel also uses as its Sabbath mode. ## What VAC actually means. On the ML24FA, VAC means vacation mode, which Marvel also uses as its Sabbath mode. The display, alarm indicators, tones and interior light are disabled, while the compartment temperature is still controlled at the earlier setting. Marvel freezer display What to do when VAC shows on the freezer ### Kind of code Mode, not a failure A setting the freezer was put into, often by accident or by the store it came from, rather than a part that broke: a showroom or demo mode that lights the display while the compressor stays off, a fast freeze left running for days, a Sabbath setting that silences the alarms, a control lock, a door alarm reminding you the door stood open. Nothing has worn out, and the freezer's own buttons or manual put it back. ### Usually leads to No repair If you did not mean to set it, press and hold On/Off until the display shows the temperature again. ### Shows up as Freezer Light Out A freezer light not working leaves the cabinet dark when the door or lid opens, while the freezer itself may still hum and hold its cold. ### Make Marvel Marvel freezers repaired where they are installed, with the airflow and the seal checked before any part is replaced. ### Source Marvel Installation, Operation and Maintenance Instructions, ML24FA freezer (41014058 Rev F) Older Marvel ML24FA freezers with the keypad control and indicator lights; current MLFZ, MOFZ and MPFZ models use different displays. Current models use a Sabbath mode that darkens the light and display instead. ## Before you book, in this order. Each step comes from Marvel's own guidance for VAC on its freezers. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit. 01 If you did not mean to set it, press and hold On/Off until the display shows the temperature again. 02 Remember that alarms are off in this mode, so check the freezer yourself after any power outage. 03 Book a visit only if the freezer is warm while VAC shows, since the mode itself keeps cooling. ### Cleared? The freezer is holding its temperature again and no part had to be replaced. If the same code comes back within a few days, or the packages start to soften again, book it as a fresh problem. ### What not to do VAC is not an error and does not stop cooling. A power outage will not turn it off either; you must exit it by hand. ## What you may notice with it. The freezer problems VAC tends to arrive with. If you did not mean to set it, press and hold On/Off until the display shows the temperature again. ### Why is my Marvel freezer light off with VAC on the display? Vacation mode turns off the interior light along with the tones and alarms. The freezer keeps cooling. ### Does a power outage cancel VAC on a Marvel? No. Marvel says the mode survives an outage and can only be ended by hand. ### Is it safe to leave a Marvel in VAC while I travel? That is what it is for, but no alarm will sound if the temperature rises. Ask someone to check the freezer if you are away for long. --- **[Read on the site: Marvel VAC: vacation and Sabbath mode is on](https://freezerrepair.center/error-codes/marvel-vac/)** **[Book a visit with FreezerRepair.center](https://freezerrepair.center/schedule/)**
