When RESTMODE shows and VACATION flashes, the Vario freezer column has switched off its ice maker, acoustic signal, interior light and display messages, and locked the buttons. It keeps freezing; it just stays quiet and dark. Gaggenau freezer display · also shown as VACATION flashing What to do when RESTMODE shows on the freezer ### Kind of code Mode, not a failure A setting the freezer was put into, often by accident or by the store it came from, rather than a part that broke: a showroom or demo mode that lights the display while the compressor stays off, a fast freeze left running for days, a Sabbath setting that silences the alarms, a control lock, a door alarm reminding you the door stood open. Nothing has worn out, and the freezer's own buttons or manual put it back. ### Usually leads to No repair Press the Holiday button to leave Rest mode; the previous settings return. ### Shows up as Freezer Light Out A freezer light not working leaves the cabinet dark when the door or lid opens, while the freezer itself may still hum and hold its cold. ### Make Gaggenau Gaggenau freezers repaired in the home, starting with the temperature they hold and the alarm they give. ### Source Gaggenau Instruction for Use, freezer RF 411, RF 413, RF 461, RF 463, RF 471 Gaggenau Vario RF 411, RF 413, RF 461, RF 463 and RF 471 freezer columns (instruction 9000909130).
