Fisher & Paykel names F15 in its fan group for column freezers and uses it as an example code at the top of the article. A frost-free column relies on moving air to carry cold from the coil to the shelves, so a fan code can lead to warming even while the compressor runs. Fisher & Paykel freezer display What to do when F15 shows on the freezer ### Kind of code Fans and airflow A fan that should have been turning is slow, stalled or stopped. Inside the cabinet, the fan pushes cold air off the coil and around the food; at the base or the back, a second fan cools the condenser so the compressor does not overheat. Ice rubbing on a blade, a package pushed against a vent and lint wrapped around a shaft are cleared before a motor is ordered. ### Usually leads to Freezer evaporator and condenser fan repair Replacing the fan that spreads cold air through a frost-free freezer, or the one that carries heat away from the condenser near the floor. ### Shows up as Standalone Freezer Not Freezing A standalone freezer not freezing shows it on a thermometer long before the food goes soft: packages give under your thumb, a tub of stock is slush at the center, and the cabinet air feels cool rather than biting. ### Make Fisher & Paykel Fisher and Paykel freezers repaired with the food still inside kept as cold as possible. ### Source Fisher & Paykel US help article: F code displaying on column freezer Fisher & Paykel integrated column freezers (RS1884F, RS2484F, RS3084F). Each step comes from Fisher & Paykel's own guidance for F15 on its freezers. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit. 01 Open the door briefly and listen for air movement at the rear vents; quiet vents with the compressor running fit a fan problem. 02 Check that no package or frost is pressed against the fan cover inside the compartment. 03 Book a visit and keep the door closed; if food begins to soften, move it to other cold storage. ### Still there? Open the door briefly and listen for air movement at the rear vents; quiet vents with the compressor running fit a fan problem. If it comes back, it needs a visit. ### What should I listen for with F15 on a Fisher & Paykel column freezer? A steady whir from the rear vents is the evaporator fan. If the compressor hums but that whir is missing, the fan side is the likely place F15 comes from. ### Can ice stop the fan and cause F15? Ice around a fan blade can stall it, and a stalled fan is exactly what a fan code watches for. A technician checks both the fan and why the ice formed. ### Is it safe to keep food in the column while F15 shows? Only while it stays frozen solid. Without the fan the shelves warm unevenly, so check the food twice a day until the visit. --- **[Read on the site: Fisher & Paykel F15 on a column freezer: fan code](https://freezerrepair.center/error-codes/fisher-and-paykel-f15/)** **[Book a visit with FreezerRepair.center](https://freezerrepair.center/schedule/)**
