Bertazzoni freezer columns can remind you every 6 months to clean the condenser behind the front toe kick cover. The reminder is off by default and is switched on in the maintenance settings; after cleaning, a reset starts the next 6-month count. Bertazzoni freezer display · also shown as Check Cond What to do when Check condenser shows on the freezer ### Kind of code Mode, not a failure A setting the freezer was put into, often by accident or by the store it came from, rather than a part that broke: a showroom or demo mode that lights the display while the compressor stays off, a fast freeze left running for days, a Sabbath setting that silences the alarms, a control lock, a door alarm reminding you the door stood open. Nothing has worn out, and the freezer's own buttons or manual put it back. ### Usually leads to No repair Turn the column off with the Unit button, wait about 30 minutes, and remove the grille under the door. ### Shows up as Freezer Runs All the Time A freezer running constantly never goes quiet: the compressor hums for hours, the base feels warm, and the power bill creeps up while the cabinet may or may not hold its temperature. ### Make Bertazzoni Bertazzoni freezers looked at in the home, with the door seal and the temperature it actually holds checked first. ### Source Bertazzoni Built-in Columns Freezer user manual (REF18FCIP, REF24FCIP, REF30FCIP /23) Bertazzoni REF18FCIP, REF24FCIP and REF30FCIP freezer columns (/23 series, Professional, Master and Heritage). Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit. 01 Turn the column off with the Unit button, wait about 30 minutes, and remove the grille under the door. 02 Vacuum the condenser fins with a soft brush, wearing gloves because the edges are sharp. 03 Restart the column, touch reset in the maintenance menu, and book a visit if the condenser is caked or the column still runs warm. ### Cleared? The freezer is holding its temperature again and no part had to be replaced. If the same code comes back within a few days, or the packages start to soften again, book it as a fresh problem. ### What not to do Check Cond is a calendar reminder, not a measurement of a clogged condenser. It appears on schedule whether the coil is dusty or clean. ## What you may notice with it. The freezer problems Check condenser tends to arrive with. Turn the column off with the Unit button, wait about 30 minutes, and remove the grille under the door. ### How often does a Bertazzoni column ask for condenser cleaning? Every 6 months, once the reminder is switched on in the maintenance settings. ### Can I turn off Check Cond on my Bertazzoni freezer? Yes. Touch Off in the maintenance settings. The condenser still needs regular cleaning. ### Why does a dusty condenser matter on a Bertazzoni freezer column? The condenser sheds the heat the freezer removes.
